Why Steve does what he does: He lives to encourage others to find significance so that many are impacted for positive change
Steve is committed to helping our loyal clients, our highly valued carriers, and our well aligned staff daily pursue answers to the question, “What could we do better?” He feels fortunate to work with a growth oriented service team of professionals that consistently ask, “How can I help?” Steve most enjoys our culture because they diligently pursue education, work as a team to hit weekly performance measures, and employ principles that encourage each other to become a better person tomorrow than they are today.
Steve currently leads our sales leaders who he believes are some of the finest people in the insurance industry because they have passion, purpose and a proven process in helping clients find solutions to complex problems. Steve grew up in Atlanta and attended Clarkston High School before majoring in Risk Management and Insurance at UGA. He attends Northpoint Community Church with his wife Jana and their 2 daughters, Ansley and Jordan.
Why Mike does what he does: He believes helping people find their passion and purpose can positively impact our world.
Mike joined Snellings Walters in 1999 and his past experience includes being an owner of another Agency as well as employment with two large insurance companies. Mike graduated in 1991 from the University of North Dakota with a degree in psychology. He is passionate and highly engaged in all that he does. He focusses on removing issues that stand between transforming good to great. He has received several recognitions from industry associations and is active in The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers as well as The Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association.
Mike is active in working with youth and in his church. He and his wife, Michelle, are proud parents of two sons, Peter and Ian, as well as two daughters named Skylar and Samantha.
Why Eric does what he does: By engaging in the lives of others, Eric is inspired by helping others to be better today than they were yesterday.
Eric specializes in establishing complex risk management programs with emphasis on Employment Practices, Property, Casualty, Umbrella, and Worker’s Compensation. He also assists clients in evaluating large deductible and captive programs.
Eric has been in the insurance industry for over 15 years. He began his career as an underwriter with The Hartford before transitioning to the broker side of the business in 2002.
Eric grew up in Connecticut and graduated from University of Vermont. Eric and his wife Alena have two children Isabela and Daniel.
Why Clay does what he does: Clay lives to inspire others to achieve that which they thought not possible.
Since joining the firm in 1986, Clay has served in several roles. He serves his personal and business clients, and is active in the leadership of the agency as a member of the executive team focusing on Information Technology and Financial Management initiatives. Clay’s clients appreciate his sense of urgency and placing their needs above his own. With a concentration in the real estate industry, Clay’s clients value his knowledge of their coverage needs and matching them with insurance companies that fulfill those needs. Clay also lives out his Sense of Purpose by working to unite the Insurance Industry to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Since 2011 he has led the Insure the Cure initiative which has raised over $500,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Clay grew up in Atlanta and attended The Lovett School before majoring in Finance/Business Administration at Stetson University. He is married to Lori and has three children, Blake, Walker and Emily.
Wezly is originally from South Africa and was recruited as a student athlete to attend Young Harris College. After graduating he recruited for the college as he was passionate about his experience as a student. Wezly moved into the insurance industry and worked in personal lines with State Farm. He joined Snellings Walters in 2017 as the firm’s core values aligned with how Wezly wanted to move forward in his career. Wezly’s areas of specialty include Property & Casualty, Workers Compensation, and Surety. He is passionate about helping business leaders feel confident about their insurance program and be in a better position than they were before.
In his spare time Wezly and his wife Kelsey enjoy spending time with family and friends. He is also involved in both playing and coaching soccer. He is passionate about the sport and enjoys giving back to the game.
Why Tara does what she does: Tara lives out her passion by serving others and building meaningful relationships.
Tara began her career with Snellings Walters in 2013, but she has been involved in customer service for over 12 years. She specializes in providing excellent customer service and helping find creative solutions for her clients.
In her spare time, she can either be found cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs or somewhere outdoors enjoying the sunshine. Tara and her husband, Patrick, love to travel and spend time with their family and friends.
Why Chris does what he does: To lead others in abandoning good for the opportunity of greatness.
A native of Georgia, Chris graduated from Georgia College & State University with a triple major in Accounting, Marketing, and Management. He began his career in public accounting as a risk management auditor. Recognizing his desire for growth, he found Snellings Walters core values to align with where he wanted to take his career. Chris enjoys the complexities of the healthcare market and believes in asking the right questions to identify issues so together solutions can be found. He specializes in alternative funding arrangements to bring transparency and control to healthcare expenditures for companies of 50+ employees.
Chris and his wife, Betsy, live in Roswell, GA. He and Betsy love spending time with family, paddle boarding on the Chattahoochee, attending date night shows at the Fox Theater, and working out in their home Crossfit gym.
Why Ryan does what he does: To find innovative ways to inspire others to achieve things they never thought possible.
Ryan has over 25 years’ experience in financial services ranging from asset management and lending to property, casualty and surety bonds. Recognizing his desire for growth, he found Snellings Walters core values to align with where he wanted to take his career and joined the firm in early 2017.
Ryan attended Providence College and graduated with a degree in Marketing.
Ryan recently moved from Miami, Florida with his wife Kati and his two daughters, Reese and Peyton. He lives in Marietta and coaches soccer at Mt. Bethel and enjoys golf.
Why Leigh does what she does: To simplify her clients lives by giving them peace of mind.
Leigh joined Snellings Walters in 2008 after spending 3 years in the Banking industry. Her specialty at Snellings Walters is Personal lines Insurance sales. She graduated from The University of Georgia in 2005 with a degree in Psychology. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority while at UGA. She has since earned her Certified Insurance Counselor Designation (CIC). In her spare time she enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and spending time with family. Leigh and her husband Todd are proud parents to their son Bennett.
Chris’ experience in the Employee Benefits Industry began as a Carrier Representative before transitioning to the broker side. His experience on the carrier side gives him an in-depth understanding of products, underwriting processes and the competitive landscape.
Chris grew up in Johns Creek, GA and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Marketing degree and an emphasis in Professional Selling. He is also an Eagle Scout. Chris is an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and enjoys traveling, concerts and spending time with friends and family.
Why Tracy does what she does:To lead a fully engaged and accountable life in order to bring the best out of people, even when they don’t see it in themselves.
Tracy has worked in the insurance industry for 10 years and joined Snellings Walters in 2012. Tracy is currently pursuing her Group Benefits Administration Designation (GBA). She is passionate about bringing truthful engagement and leading others to find their true passion. Tracy desires to help her team be honest, direct and efficient through mentoring and accountability.
Tracy resides in Kennesaw, GA with her husband Chad. Tracy pursues bodybuilding at the competitive level and enjoys traveling as well as spending time outdoors with friends.
Why Tina does what she does: Tina is the Personal Lines Department Leader. She’s passionate about earning a clients’ trust, keeping an eye on the big picture, and only giving advice she would give her own family.
Tina has worked in the insurance industry 14 years, beginning as an underwriter for a major carrier in her home state of Ohio. She moved to Georgia in 2005 and has been a dedicated independent agent ever since. Tina joined Snellings Walters in 2014. She attends Georgia State University pursuing a BS in Risk Management. Tina currently resides in Decatur with her wife, Sally, and their 10-year-old son, Rowan.
Why Ralph does what he does: Ralph is passionate in coaching people to improve their life physically, spiritually, and in business and also passionate in helping people achieve their dreams, while protecting the assets they have earned.
Ralph has more than 25 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and uses this expertise and experience to better understand our clients business and improve insurance costs which directly impact the bottom line results. Ralph’s key strengths include: Business Acumen, Relations Development / Management, Prospecting/Business Development, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Innovation.
Ralph Graduated from Villanova University, and continues to be active in the local alumni chapter, very active in his community and coaches Roswell High School Football. He is also a member of the Technology Association of Georgia, The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, and The Tech Forum,.
Ralph and his wife Susan are residents of Roswell with their daughter Devon and sons Trey and Nick.
Why Will Does What He Does: To forge all relationships with empathy first, loyalty will be my reward.
Will graduated from The University of Georgia in 1971 and began his insurance career with Cook, Virden and Pharr, Inc. in Atlanta. He founded W. S. Pharr & Company in 1989 which served business, personal and benefit clients for over twenty years. He has been active in the Atlanta and Georgia Associations of Independent Agents as well as the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers. Pharr’s advises clients with complex exposures to Liability and Workers Compensation with a focus on outcomes results. He is currently active in the Madison Morgan Cultural Center, the Morgan County Conservancy, and the Madison First United Methodist Church. His wife Diane and he have two children in college.
Why Billy does what he does: He challenges others to pursue feedback because the pursuit of truth is the most meaningful part of the process.
Since 2002, Billy has designed, implemented and educated employers on partially self-funded medical plans. While he believes that the technical side is important and a strength of his engagement, he contributes his success to asking thought provoking questions. The solution seems to present itself once the right issue has been identified.
Born and raised in Dunwoody, GA, he is the youngest of 5 children. After graduating from Marist School, he attended Mount Saint Mary’s College and graduated with a degree in Business and Economics. He and Allie were married in 2006 and live in Alpharetta with their children, Sean, Ryan, Caroline and Jacob. They are active parishioners at St. Brigid Catholic Church and in his free time, you will find Billy playing with his kids or golfing.
Why Sandra does what she does: To promote cohesiveness using communication, cooperation and the instillation of trust. She thrives on helping others grow and achieve more than they thought possible.
Sandra has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years and joined Snellings Walters in 2007. She is leading on Procedures, Workflows and Training. Sandra is a member of North Point Community Church and resides in Johns Creek with her son Adam. Her oldest son Ryan serves in the Navy and is currently stationed in Lemoore, CA.
Al has been active in the financial services industry for forty years. He was a principal with Peachtree Planning and General Agent with the Guardian. He has advised Snellings Walters professionals since 1978.
Al holds the CLU and ChFC designations and is a Series 7 licensed Registered Representative with PAS and a Series 24 licensed Registered Principal. He graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts. Following three years of active duty as an officer in the U. S. Air Force, he earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia.
He is past president and an active member of the Atlanta Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and the Atlanta Chapter of the American Society of Financial Services Professionals. In 2000, he was awarded the Harry I. Davis Distinguished Service Award by the Atlanta Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. The award is presented annually to a person actively engaged in the financial services business and recognizes outstanding services rendered.
Al has been a frequent speaker to numerous industry groups throughout the Southeast and has been a presenter at the National Forum of Financial Services Professionals. He has published articles and has been quoted in periodicals including Business Week and Smart Business.
Al and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children, Tim Robertson and Anne Peden Watts and three grandchildren.
Why Chip does what he does: To help free people up to pursue their personal and professional passions and see them accomplish things they thought not possible.
Chip is thrilled to be part of the Snellings Walters Leadership Team. Over the past 20 years he has become an integral ingredient in his client’s growth and success as he is a resource for property and casualty, employee benefits, and surety bonds.
Chip enjoys working with clients and prospects to design the most effective blend of protection, risk retention, and pricing for their organization in both the short term and long term. He also works with clients to assist with Job Costing, Budgeting, Overhead Reduction, and short and long term planning. He really enjoys forecasting the impact growth and changes in corporate direction will impact current programs and the overall organization.
Chip is a graduate of Mars Hill College and is a native of Dunwoody where he graduated from Dunwoody High School in 1984. He is active in his local church, coaching, and community affairs. He is proud to be married to his lovely wife Stacey and to be the father of his children Alex and Charis
What Mac loves to do: Creating a positive atmosphere for others to grow and flourish both personally and professionally. If our staff wins, our clients reap the benefits of an engaged, dedicated team providing the best possible solutions and service to back it up.
Mac joined Snellings Walters in 2015. Prior to Snellings Walters, Mac was the Chief Financial Officer for Metrac, Inc., the John Deere Construction and Forestry dealer for middle and north Georgia. Previously, Mac spent 25 years as a Corporate Banker, followed by a startup in the Atlanta Technology Development Center.
Mac has his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and MBA in Finance from Georgia State. Mac and Stacy have been married for 31 years, and are the proud parents of Caroline, Will and Ace the Labrador.
Why Allan does what he does: I believe that by passionately driving my bus where God wants me to go I can have a positive influence on those who catch a ride along the way.
Allan graduated from the University of Georgia’s Risk Management program in 1995 and has given back to the industry as a continuing education instructor, the chairman of several committees of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, and is currently the President of IIAG. Outside of the insurance industry, Allan serves as an active member of St. Clements Catholic Church, The Boy Scouts of America, the Calhoun Blue Barracudas and other local swim teams. He is also a member of the Construction Financial Management Association of Georgia. Allan and his wife, Melanie, live in Calhoun, Georgia with their children Brandon, Bella, and Brayden.
